•Undertake a range of tasks for the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) – Aerospace Systems Division (ASD) related to risk management, whole of lifecycle management of risk in relation to the WHS Legislation, Training Needs Analysis, incident reporting and management, high risk plant management (JSLP), identification of the top five risks for systems project offices in ASD, review and harmonisation of ASD policy and procedures. A number of products were developed during the course of the contract and many of these products have been used in other Defence Groups. The risk management described in the legislation mapped to the capability systems lifecycle has been presented on a number of occasions in separate Defence forums. Many of the tasks were required to bring ASD to a position of compliance with safety legislation and Defence safety policy. This was difficult to achieve in an environment where international standards are being applied to Australian contexts. Risk management procedures for human interface with procured equipment were developed but not adopted prior to the end of the contract.
